This one is soooo much better than my last handle bar bag that I am at a loss to say enough about how good it is...and how much I enjoy using it...This Bike Bag Shop is also the best company to deal with. I just love their service for all that I bought and all the phone calls I made to ask some very simple questions on how to get outfitted for my first long distance bike tour... Just the best company to deal with...Go for it , just give them a try...

Very good bag. This is roomy enough for a DSLR with a decent sized lens (like a 35-70 zoom) plus some carbo or protein bars, and other things you will want on a long ride. This helped me through my first Metric Century and my weekend 30 milers. Note that if you have a hnadlebar mounted light, it might block that from being totally visible.

I bought the Ortlieb Ultimate % Plus for my husband. It was a birthday present I needed in a hurry. Great prices with add ons, fantastic shipping service and product is all that it was made out to be and more. My husband loves it, especially the locking device. We live in monsoonal country and this bag makes sure that binos, and cameras stay high and dry.

Pros: * Waterproof * Secure attachement - no worries of unplanned detachment. * Made of robust materials - should prove durable. * Waterproof * Did I say waterproof? This is a big deal here in the soggy Pacific Northwest. Cons: * Lockable attachment? Just silly. Instead of stealing the bag a thief will just take what's in the bag instead. Just adds some weight and cost for no reason. * What are these tiny mesh pockets attached to the sides like an afterthought supposed to be for, exactly? Too small for anything very useful (can't even get a pair of sunglasses in there) and made from some mesh material so doesn't even offer any weather protection to the contents. Don't see the point of them. * Handy attachment points for the map case are a good idea, so why not complete the job with attachement towards the rear as well as at the front? Otherwise, in a cross wind or tail wind the map case will flap about annoyingly. This can be solved for a few cents with some self-adhesive velcro on the bag lid and map case, so why did I have to add that and not Ortlieb? * X - shaped internal divider doesn't actually attach anywhere, just sort of sits inside and lets smaller items in the bag creep around underneath it. More or less better than nothing, but I suspect some more velcro in my future. Still, having said all that, I got what I wanted (mainly), which was a waterproof bag. It just seems like in a lot of other ways Ortleib really dropped the ball with this bag's design.

Love this thing so far, after a weekend's use. Installation was easy and it sits on the handlebars rock-solid. The lock seems like a silly idea---after all, it only locks the bag to the handlebars and doesn't lock the bag shut, so a thief could still make off with whatever's in the bag. I suppose you'll be left with your nice bag, though. That said, the mechanism for clipping the bag on and off the handlebars is very quick and easy to use and makes it a breeze to pop the bag on and off when you run in for lunch somewhere or whatever. The carrying strap is a nice addition although it does fall off when it's not under tension (i.e. when you're not carrying it). My only criticism so far is that the two clip buttons on the top flap rattle. A lot. It's not very loud but it can get annoying. Fortunately, when the matching Ortlieb map case is attached, this stops the rattling completely---but if you're not going to get the map case, be warned (or see if you can get some matching buttons to clip in there to stop the rattling).

I am currently training for a 4500 mile bike trip from Austin, TX to Anchorage, AK. I am riding a Felt Z85, so it's a nice road bike, not a bike for touring. My teammates and I (http://www.texas4000.org) will be followed by support trailers carrying our gear. As such, usually each rider only has whatever they can fit in their jersey & Bento box on the bike with them at any time. I bought this bag because I am carrying a Nikon DSLR with me on the trip and wanted a way to have the camera with me at all times in easy access range so that I could take photos on the bike or at convenient stops. I wanted a bag that was waterproof as we ride in all conditions and my camera is EXPENSIVE! I could not be happier with this bag. It is 100% waterproof (fully tested in awful conditions by yours truly) and it makes accessing the camera a breeze. It also allows me to have rain gear handy which is a blessing. I use the side pockets for my gum, chapstick, and sunscreen. I usually tape directions to the top, as well. My teammates are all jealous. This bag is the best!

This handlebar bag is very light and roomy. It is also waterproof, but I cannot attest to that fact yet. It has an easy mounting and dismounting system, and one can lock the bag to the bars. I like this bag ok, but if I had the opportunity, knowing what I know now, I would not purchase this bag again, or if I did, I would not spend the extra money for the bag with the divider and side pockets. First off, the divider ends up "creeping up," so all the stuff that was separated ends up all together anyways. Second, the outside side pockets are so small that they are really not that useful. Plus if you have a small bike, then you can't excess them while the bag is mounted, and lastly, the strap does not mount to the bag in the standard clip method but instead the straps 'snap' onto the bag. The strap then detaches from the bag too easily. The bag's closing method takes some getting use to also. The top is secured by two snaps, and it takes time getting the snaps to line up in the right position.

I am currently using this bag on a cross country trip with my family. Overall I am very pleased with its performance. The cable mount had me concerned at first but has proven to be very secure with no slipping. The lid opens out of the way and provides a convenient place to temporarily hold its while I dig around in the bag. Th organizer works well and the bag is very roomy. I only have 2 minor gripes. The first is the lock which only secures the bag to the bars. I am more concerned about loosing the contents in my bag rather than the bag itself. Seems like an unnecessary feature. The second is in the zippered pouch. In all my Ortlieb products the fabric is taped at the seams to prevent fraying but on the inside of the zipper pouch it is not. The fabric frays and ends up in the zipper snagging the pull. Not a large problem but for a $100 bag should be addressed. Overall this is an excellent bag and I highly recommend it.
