Love this thing so far, after a weekend's use. Installation was easy and it sits on the handlebars rock-solid. The lock seems like a silly idea---after all, it only locks the bag to the handlebars and doesn't lock the bag shut, so a thief could still make off with whatever's in the bag. I suppose you'll be left with your nice bag, though. That said, the mechanism for clipping the bag on and off the handlebars is very quick and easy to use and makes it a breeze to pop the bag on and off when you run in for lunch somewhere or whatever. The carrying strap is a nice addition although it does fall off when it's not under tension (i.e. when you're not carrying it). My only criticism so far is that the two clip buttons on the top flap rattle. A lot. It's not very loud but it can get annoying. Fortunately, when the matching Ortlieb map case is attached, this stops the rattling completely---but if you're not going to get the map case, be warned (or see if you can get some matching buttons to clip in there to stop the rattling).Rated 5 out of 5 Stars
I am currently training for a 4500 mile bike trip from Austin, TX to Anchorage, AK. I am riding a Felt Z85, so it's a nice road bike, not a bike for touring. My teammates and I (http://www.texas4000.org) will be followed by support trailers carrying our gear.
As such, usually each rider only has whatever they can fit in their jersey & Bento box on the bike with them at any time. I bought this bag because I am carrying a Nikon DSLR with me on the trip and wanted a way to have the camera with me at all times in easy access range so that I could take photos on the bike or at convenient stops. I wanted a bag that was waterproof as we ride in all conditions and my camera is EXPENSIVE!
I could not be happier with this bag. It is 100% waterproof (fully tested in awful conditions by yours truly) and it makes accessing the camera a breeze. It also allows me to have rain gear handy which is a blessing. I use the side pockets for my gum, chapstick, and sunscreen. I usually tape directions to the top, as well.
My teammates are all jealous. This bag is the best!Rated 5 out of 5 Stars

This handlebar bag is very light and roomy. It is also waterproof, but I cannot attest to that fact yet. It has an easy mounting and dismounting system, and one can lock the bag to the bars. I like this bag ok, but if I had the opportunity, knowing what I know now, I would not purchase this bag again, or if I did, I would not spend the extra money for the bag with the divider and side pockets. First off, the divider ends up "creeping up," so all the stuff that was separated ends up all together anyways. Second, the outside side pockets are so small that they are really not that useful. Plus if you have a small bike, then you can't excess them while the bag is mounted, and lastly, the strap does not mount to the bag in the standard clip method but instead the straps 'snap' onto the bag. The strap then detaches from the bag too easily. The bag's closing method takes some getting use to also. The top is secured by two snaps, and it takes time getting the snaps to line up in the right position.Rated 3 out of 5 Stars

I am currently using this bag on a cross country trip with my family. Overall I am very pleased with its performance. The cable mount had me concerned at first but has proven to be very secure with no slipping. The lid opens out of the way and provides a convenient place to temporarily hold its while I dig around in the bag. Th organizer works well and the bag is very roomy. I only have 2 minor gripes. The first is the lock which only secures the bag to the bars. I am more concerned about loosing the contents in my bag rather than the bag itself. Seems like an unnecessary feature. The second is in the zippered pouch. In all my Ortlieb products the fabric is taped at the seams to prevent fraying but on the inside of the zipper pouch it is not. The fabric frays and ends up in the zipper snagging the pull. Not a large problem but for a $100 bag should be addressed. Overall this is an excellent bag and I highly recommend it.Rated 5 out of 5 Stars
