Wow! This bag is so-well designed... from the same engineering mindset that brings us BMWs and Mercedes. Mounting to your handlebar is via a cable which criss-crosses your stem and handlebar, over and under to secure the bag . While unusual at the outset compared with other systems, you'll soon see how well thought-out this system is.
I have supplemental brake levers inboard on my bars, so I had to rule out most other handlebar bags because of insufficient clearance. Ortlieb offers an optional extender bracket. This worked out to be just the solution I was looking for.
Access to the main compartment is very quick via pull-tabs facing you. The optional map flap is large and displays whatever you need to see when riding.
It comes with a shoulder-strap and integral lock and key. Again, very well engineered.
I could not find Ortlieb bags at my local bike shops (many in the area) and was happy to learn that the BikeBagShop carries Ortlieb (and at good prices). Customer service was excellent!
These bags are pricey, but IMHO well worth it. You'll see why when you buy one!
