The Ortlieb Ultimate 5 Classic medium is one of the best waterproof handlebar bags on the market. the snap lid opens away from the rider making it easy to access the bag while riding. Exterior snaps on the bag lid accommodate Ortlieb map cases. The Ultimate 5 snaps easily into the mounting system and can be locked for security, but is easily removed and used as personal bag when away from the bike with the included shoulder strap. The Ultimate 5 Classic is made of the same tear resistant waterproof material found on their classic panniers. There are internal stiffeners to keep the shape and structure rigid. I've had this handlebar bag for a month and it work great. I found out the hard way that overtightening the mounting bracket can lead to a broken mounting bracket. I bought a new one and was more successful at keeping it intact. As for the bag, it works very well. I commute year-round. Since I've had the bad I've commuted mostly in horrible wet conditions. It allows me to carry some more cold weather gear or left-overs for lunch. It works fine with my Ultegra shifters. I had to relocate my headlight by adding a Topeak barXtender. The barXtender allow me to have my headlight under the bag instead of on top of the handlebar like before. The additional weight and wind drag of the handlebar bag is easy to get used to. I would highly recommend this product. I also bought the map case but haven't used it yet--the construction is top-notch.

The delivery was fast, so that was great.
It arrived in time for my trip to New Zealand where I used the bag on the Central Otago Rail Trail. On this long bumpy path, the mounting system did not rattle or need any adjustments. The bag is designed well, like all Ortlieb products I've used, and functions exactly as it should. Very good product.
