If you want a bag for the top of your rack, reach for the Ortlieb Trunk Bag. The Trunk Bag has the volume of a small pannier, with aggressive features and the typical Ortlieb high quality engineering. Great as a commuter bag, the Trunk Bag can easily be used for your lunch and a nice wind shell, with room to spare. The Trunk Bag is completely waterproof, and utilizes a TIZIP main zipper for the resilient caliber and ultimate weather protection.

The innovative Ortlieb rack adapter mounting system also comes in handy for adding a trunk bag to your touring pannier set. The rack adapter has lower rails that attach to your current rack which allow you to mount your panniers lower, while attaching the Trunk Bag by clicking it securely to the top.

The Ortlieb Trunk Bag is now available with 2 other mounting options for Racktime Racks with the Snapit Adapter System or for racks with R&K mounting.

Safety is also important when riding with a rear bag. The Trunk Bag has rear reflective elements, along with a light fixation loop for excellent visibility no matter what time of day. It's like a back pack for your rear rack! Pack it up with the Ortlieb Trunk Bag.

And waterproof it is! The first tour for this bag was around Lake Ontario and we had several days of rain during the two week trip. I had been using another brand bag for 10 years with a rain cover and it seemed that no matter what I did, the rain found its way under the cover. NOT WITH THIS BAG. The zipper is a bit stiff to pull, but that should be expected when it has to keep the water out. Will have to order one for my wife now.

Pro: Love the Ortlieb Trunk Bag. As expected the quality has outshown all my other bags. Cannot say enough about the quality of their bags. Con: The installation instructions on a scale to 10. I give Ortlieb Trunk Bag a big fat 2! Way to go Ortlieb how to drop the ball. Not all of us are engineers.

very good in terms of durability. This product, along with many other Ortlieb bags stands up to what ever the weather choses to throw at it. I like the side pockets, I use them for a water proof map and a compass. However, if i were to purchase this over again, I think I would check to see if the product's compatibility matched up with the rack I planned to put it on. I previously bought a rear rack from surly and this truck bag -to my disappointment- was not compatible with it. (the bracket that attaches to the rack must be connected to a rack that is less than 140mm wide, my surly rack was 160mm wide -typical surly design.) So, this is something you should consider before buying this trunk bag. I use this trunk bag for utilities (u lock and cable, first aid kit, rescue tools, etc.) and unfortunately, since the bottom of the truck bag is exposed plastic, the contents tend to make a rattling noise whenever I go over bumps. This is minor, but I like to have my bike run as quiet as possible, with the exception of the hub mechanism. despite the compatibility issues and the rattling, its a good design. I do think it's worth the investment, especially if you like to go on rides that require enough room for essentials food, and in uncertain weather conditions.

Great bag; but the mounting system forces your panniers to sit a bit low. The bag is also a hair smaller than I expected.
