The Ortlieb Rack Pack is a classic piece of luggage. It’s a universal holdall bag that has proved its versatility on every continent.
The full-width roll closure allows fast access and keeps water and dust outside. The end mounted straps with Fastex buckles enable you to combine the Rack Pack medium with the Ortlieb Back Roller Classics or Back Roller Plus, as well as the Ortlieb Front Roller Classics or Front Roller Plus
Using the Rack Pack in combination with a set of panniers is a great way to expand your gear carrying capacity. The Ortlieb Rack Pack can be placed on top of your rear rack loaded with side panniers. It can be attached to the rack using its side buckles, which can be threaded through the pannier handles. You can use an additional strap to attach the Rack Pack over the top of your setup if necessary.

Bought this for an upcoming 10-day bicycle tour, have used it on a weekend tour so far. Seems very durable and well-made, a breeze to use---opens up wide to swallow my tent, sleeping pad, and camping chair, then rolls up and lets you squeeze the air out before cinching down securely with four nice buckles (two on the top and one on each side). Matches the rest of my Ortlieb pannier/handlebar bag set-up beautifully. Sits nicely across the top of the panniers, I use two bungee cords to strap it down onto the rack. The shoulder strap (though I haven't used it) feels luxuriously soft and plush. This is a fancy piece of gear.

I purchased summer for a tour to Ottawa area from Rochester NY in October and for two of the days I was blessed with heavy rain along with strong winds. Not a bit of moisture got inside the bag. I like the strength of construction and feel it is a great value.

super speedy delivery time. excellent product (it's an Ortlieb). nothing but good to say about both th Bike Bag Shop and Ortlieb's medium rack pack. I would highly recommend this pack if you are considering touring. it can also double as an overnighter, as the shoulder straps are very comfortable, its's plenty roomy, and looks good too!

I used this bag as a bicycle rack-top bag. Just the right length and size to hold my tent, thermarest, camera tripod and a other long items. The bag is simple, no pockets, but opens very wide to get to your stuff quickly. It is easy to get an item out of the bottom of the bag without removing the other items inside. Should strap very useful to take bag along with you. Plenty of straps to secure bag to rack or other panniers. Tough. The rack clips of my Ortlieb back roller classics have a sharp bit at the top, which would have rubbed on the Rack pack, but I padded them with a sheet of neoprene.
