The 2009 Model Bike Packer Plus waterproof rear panniers are Ortlieb's top-of-the-line cross-country touring panniers. These panniers hold 40 liters of gear, and the mesh front pocket allows for additional carrying capacity. The waterproof Cordura fabric ensures your cargo will stay safe and dry.

Couple these panniers with the Sport Packer Plus panniers and there's not much you can't bring with you. For tandem touring, a combination of these high-capacity panniers along with a bicycle trailer can be utilized to carry both riders' gear.

Top notch product. These bags are very well made. There is a mesh pocket inside the main compartment and a small waterproof front pocket. The front pocket doesn't seal in any way, other than the the flap sort of snaps down into place because it is pulled tight by the side straps. I know it will be fine is moderate rain, but I don't know yet if some water might work its way in there in a torrential downpour. It's a nice pocket for quick access items like keys and a phone. Also, these bags are a little quicker to access the main compartment than the roll-top because it's just the clips and a drawstring. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I purchased the yellow Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus panniers from Bikebagshop.com for commuting to/from work. The price was the lowest I could find and I received them in a timely fashion. The Ortlieb panniers are easy to attach/remove from my bike rack and provide more than enough room for all my needs (extra changes of clothes, toiletry kit, towel, food, etc. I traveled through some heavy storms yet everything inside remained dry. These are well-made and Ortlieb's attention to detail is second-to-none. It literally took a minute to adjust the mounting points and attach them to my rack. Within seconds I can attach/remove them from my bicycle.

So far I am content with my Ortlieb bike packer plus's. I use them primarily for commuting so most of the time I just use one bag. I can do all of my grocery shopping in one trip if I use both bags and still have room left. The external side pockets are handy for frequently used items like my bike lights and odometer, and other things like your phone, charger, wallet, pens etc. I do wish the bag was easier to get in to from the top, but it probably wouldn't be as weather proof if it was. I like to put my locking hardware in the bag and it can get frustrating sometimes having to unclip twice, turn flap over, loosen strap, and then do everything in reverse every time to take things out or put stuff in. It is a touring pannier though.
