I love my Back Roller Classics! After 19 years of commuter cycling, I can't believe I've waited so long to purchase a product like this. I live in a place that is extremely wet in the winter and these panniers can definitely withstand the harsh conditions. Thank you Ortlieb and Bike Bag Shop!

I purchased a set of front and back classics this summer for a tour to Ottawa area from Rochester NY in October and for two of the days I was blessed with heavy rain along with strong winds. Not a bit of moisture got inside the bags and I loved the ease with which they go on and off my racks. I like the strength of construction and feel they are a great value.

I recently purchased the Ortlieb Back Roller Classics from BikeBagShop.com. Bags were shipped and delivered in speedy fashion, thank you. I've been commuting with these bags for almost two weeks now. Computer and dress shoes go in one. Lunch and clothes go in the other. The bags are thoughtfully designed and manufactured to be of high quality. If something happened to these, I would certainly buy them again.

excellent piece(s)... I am using them now for about 2 months for my daily commute to work. I love the lock mechanism and I have tried them in pouring rain - no problem.

A classic, and rightly so. The newer Back Rollers now come with the more versatile oval bottom rack attachment. This is by far the easiest pannier to get on and off the rack - it takes just one second. The beauty of this is you don't have to think twice about removing the panniers in situations where security might be an issue. Just lift by the handle, and they are off. Simply place them on the rack and they are back on. No fiddling with straps, buckles or clips. Be careful not to put anything even slightly damp inside - they are so waterproof that even the smallest amount of moisture will be locked in and get everything damp inside. Because they have external pockets (there are two internal pouches for small items such as maps or wallets), you have to have a system to remember which pannier holds what item. Otherwise, its a pain to empty all panniers to search for one small thing. Once I got used to using the system, its the best pannier set I have ever used.

Overall the bags are great. Well made and completely waterproof. My only complaint is the shoulder-strap design. The attachment point for the strap is at the top lip of the bag. When you roll up the top to close it the strap gets tangled and twisted. It should have a swivel or attach in a different location.

Just got my Ortlieb Back Roller Classics today and I'm very satisfied. As you would expect from something made in Germany they are constructed of top quality materials, excellent workmanship, clever design (the quick release is very slick, just pull up and it pops off). I know the price was good because I Googled it and I got to buy them from some nice people that live in Flagstaff. Good deal!

I finally retired my trusty, 20 year old Lone Peaks. The Ortliebs are fantastic for touring! They swallow prodigious amounts of gear easily. My first tour with them was a very rugged mountain bike tour in Michigan's U.P., mostly on single track and logging roads. The Ortliebs were very stable with no rattles. They are equally good for commuting. The quick release feature is just that - quick. Heal clearance is outstanding. I can highly recommend these panniers to anyone!

Excellent product! The bags fit any rack I have tried attaching them to. The materials are durable... think 20 year lifetime kind of durability. They hold a lot of gear. I'd highly recommend these bags for cycle touring and then getting a set of the smaller ones(front roller) for commuting to work. Oh yeah, and the waterproofness is never in question. They seal the same way dry bags for river rafting seal.

I used these panniers for a long tour (about 5 days). These were amazingly waterproof, as it rained heavily on one day. Very sturdy, and compact. I think they are great value if you plan to use these for multi-day trips like I will. Bike trailer is also great to deal with, and very accommodating in terms of figuring out my needs. Would definitely do business with them again! Thanks! Don

I run Ortleib Backpacker Classics on a Tubus Vega rack. The strength, stability, and adjustability of both is their greatest feature. I ride 50cm, 700c frame and can avoid heel rub with a full load on this set-up. I commute more than I tour and the bags are a little awkward to carry by hand, but for touring the waterproofness and stability bring priceless peace of mind. Speaking of price both of these items are a solid value for being top of the line. Thanks Bike Trailer Shop. James Flagstaff, AZ
