I've got a cross bike that I use for commuting. The front fork appears to be set up for fenders, but it doesn't have bosses in the middle for a rack. It does, however, have bosses for canti breaks. The brilliant minds at BikeBagShop recommended this rack, and it works great. Installation probably took about an hour, but I think I was being too much of a perfectionist. Still, I've got just a bit of metal-on-metal rattle on rough roads that I can't quite isolate -- that's the only thing that keeps this from being perfect.

Easy to install, reasonable price, solid performance. I purchased it recently to use on a 5-day trip on the Great Divide Mountain Bike trail in Montana. I carried gear on the top rack only - attached by straps. This worked very well. The rack was very sturdy and rigid and my gear remained solidly in place. I was very satisfied.
