Used this bag in a recent ride from Burlington Vt to Montreal and back. All but one day, it rained. Bag was water proof and kept everything dry. Very good bag and I would recommend it. PETE

Great quality, just a little smaller than I would have liked. Good for a quick trip the Y, or carrying personal items, a pair of shoes, your lunch. But only the commuter who wears his work clothes on the ride should get this. Straps strong and quick to remove.

I looked long and hard for the perfect trunk bag and in my opinion found it in this Arkel Tail Rider. The price seems a bit high until you compare the quality of materials and workmanship with most other bags of this type and size. It is extremely functional and quite versatile.

This was one of the few available bags that could fit my frame pump. The capacity is outstanding on the bag and it does a good job of staying dry. The zippers are waterproof and the fabric will withstand rain for quite awhile (leaving you plenty of time to pull on the included rain cover). Be sure to mount the bag _slightly_ back on your rack so you can reach the rain cover (stored in the front with an opening on the bottom). I use the front (smaller section) to carry my tools, tubes, and 1st aid kit. The rest of the pack can carry clothes, food, and rain gear... enough for very long rando rides.

Bought the Arkel tailrider a few weeks ago and have already come to appreciate its quality and capacity. At the end of a ride I stopped to pick up some groceries and the tailrider easily swallowed a loaf of bread, half a chicken, bag of chips and a pound of coffee. That was after it absorbed my riding jacket, spare tube, multitool, wallet and other standard fare. As someone who likes to use my bike both for recreation and performing the daily chores, the tailrider has been a great choice for me!
